Default Got my 15-3 in

I picked it up last week and shot it with 158 gr LRN. I got it for a decent price, under $600. I really liked the target hammer & trigger a lot.

Nice score. First S&W I ever owned was a 15-3. Still got it. Great guns.

The model 15 is my favorite. Looks like you got a nice one and a good shooter. Congrats.

For me it adds a touch of class, standing out from the crowd...My 15 no dash has both and lettered that way along with the unrelieved target stocks which it also wears...Good luck slick-talking this one out from under me......Ben

Looks like it was a Combat Masterpiece sort of week. I picked up this 15-3 last Friday.

I didn't know they made 258 grain for a 38. Sorry. I could not resist.

OK, I have to show off mine now.

I'm betting you meant "158 gr LRN".

I bought my first revolver, a 15-3 in 1974. At the urging of an ex-fiancée I sold it in 1976 along with a motorcycle I owned for eight years and a performance car that I owned for six years. Ended that relationship in the first week of ‘77, never to return.

Replaced the car in ‘86, seven or eight motorcycles subsequently and late last year a 15-3 entered the fold.

Default Me Too, Me Too!

I picked up this 4-screw no-dash M15 back in '06. It came in to the shop I was at along with the original box. We all looked it over and decided it was an extraordinarily good reblue...the gun was just too nice to be all original. The next day our gunsmith had a good look at it and declared it absolutely original.

Oops, that's what I get typing on my phone! I really like it a lot and plan on shooting it a good bit.

Good choice. You can almost never go wrong with a Model 15.

Might as well show mine off, although I'm sure the regulars are sick of it. A -2 from 1966.

[QUOTE=Truckman;141988571]Try to prioritize a little better this time...At least attend our regular support group meetings here......Ben[/QUOTE

Previous shop I worked at, the owner had a couple of them in his personal collection. I checked the S/N’s of his of hoping one of the was my old revolver as he used to haunt the defunct shop I sold it to (Northwest Gun Shop, Redford Twp Mi. back then but no such luck.) He was reluctant to part with either of his so I let it go. I could have probably hounded him but not in my nature to do so. Shop closed after he passed in ‘22.

My “new” one was in the revolver showcase when I came into work, one day. One small spot of rust on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard. Employee price was right so I snagged it, cleaned it and Oxpho Blued the spot. It’s not perfect, besides the little blotch the front and rear sight blades show a witness mark of being dropped on a hard surface once. Got a new rear blade, not installed yet and the front blade will need to be file dressed and touch up blued too.

I forgot how sweet that felt in my hand.
