Northeastern PA Gunsmith recomendations
Can anyone recommend a reliable gunsmith in the Northeastern PA area who can be trusted to reliably work on a S&W Model 29-2 and a 70's era Colt Python that I own?

Not sure how much gunsmithing he is still doing but you can try Randy Hollowbush and Handgunner Gun Shop in Topton, PA.

On the other hand, you might want to know how accomplished any given practitioner is in doing what you want done---never mind where they might be.
My most recent experience, 8-9 years ago, had me shipping a one of a kind gun to Sugar Land, Texas where an absolute WIZARD did what needed to be done---and did it such that you can't tell it was done even if I showed you where to look!
Then there was the cost. The shipping and insurance was more than the cost of the work, and I was a very happy camper---older but wiser!

Knowledgeable vintage Colt revolversmiths are barely a national resource, much less state -- unless you've got geographic luck of the draw.
PA revolversmiths spoken well of include David Olhasso David Olhasso, and Al Greco at Al's Custom Gunsmithing - Revolver Work - Al's Custom
I'd talk with them. If they're not the ones, they can probably point you in the right direction.
Generally, for good gunsmithing, shipping ends up being the best (worst) option.

The best Colt gunsmiths I know of are Frank Glenn and Mike Heffron. Ask around the Colt Forum about these two gents.
I can't comment on one for S&W work.

It recently came to my attention that John Blauvelt has health issues and his workload has been curtailed. It probably doesn’t hurt to email or call him.

Frank Glenn is excellent for S&W work, as well as Colt.
Sandy Garrett is, too, if we're opening the field to outside Northeast PA.
