14-3 Questions and Pictures
Hello,
I’ve had this 14-3 for a bit, and am wondering if I could get an estimate of the year it was made. It’s in almost new shape, but has been fired.
I’ve got brass Tyler T grips on my Colts, do any of you know if they are still shipping grip adapters? It seems a few years ago I heard that they were not.

Nice looking 14. that serial # puts it in the 1975 timeframe.
I recently acquired one from the same time frame ser 8k18xxx with box tools etc.

8K84000 would be a 1977 serial number.
8K80001 to 8K99999 = 1977.

Thanks for the date. Any ideas about the status of Tyler grips?

I'm hearing things like very extended lead times....like over a year! And, difficult communications.

They cashed my check as soon as they got it but never sent the grip adapter. Never replied to my emails either. Whoever is currently running the company is a disgrace to such a historic brand.

I don't get the Tyler adapter love. To me, it just ruins the clean lines of a beautiful gun.
A set of finger groove combat grips looks loads better on a classic gun, IMO.

Why not settle for Robertson? They are aluminum, not brass, they don't always fit perfectly with the grip, but they do the job.

I really like the look of the solid brass against nicely blued revolvers. Also got others, so no need to settle in this case. I just don’t want to mail off a check if I’m never going to see anything from it.
