I find the Model 27 to be the best looking of the S&W revolvers because of the top strap checkering. I'm sure I'm not alone in this because the 27 seems to have a large following in the collector and shooter ranks. I love the Model 29 for looks and shooting but for pure beauty it's the Model 27 that grabs my eye.

Let's show them in a picture thread.

Very nice examples, that top strap checkering is a distinctive feature of
the 27 for sure. I like the tapered barrel also. Blue/nickel---they all look
good. Pete

Here is my '68 27-2. It is my favorite Smith, except for the caliber. I like a bigger bore, but this one is accurate, and balances perfectly. I also prefer the tapered barrel and 5" length.

I love em all in any barrel length!!!! Great pics and 27's gents. Art, your's are absolutely beautiful and as always great pictures. My next S&W will be a nickel 3.5" or 4" to match my blued 3.5" 'r.

Bad pic but here's mine. It's a great shooting revolver and is not in pristine condition, but I still love it.

Driheat, that beater 27 looks like it needs to go! I'd never have that ugly of a S&W in my safe. Please give me a yell when you're ready to sell. My blued 27 saw it and fell in love with it. NICE Pair!!!

Scroll back up and LOOK AT THE REVO that Ponci04 posted!

Is that not better than the Mona Lisa!?!

Thanks for posting.

I know this one has been posted before, but I love showing it off. It shoots 158 gr Fed .357s into one hole at 25 yards. 27-2 5", Herrett's Ropers.
