Do you think it worth $500 bucks? It has a smooth light trigger on her.

John,
What a great job you did to bring back a bad looking gun.

My compliments! Night and day, I can't for the life of me figure out what on earth the previous "owner" was trying to do with it??

Looks like a fine piece of equipment now. Congrats on a job well done. How many hours did you have to put in to it, if I may ask?

It sucks, please ship it to me for proper disposal...
Seriously though, what was the story behind the "custom" work? I don't mind adding a tweek or two to my pistols, but I always keep in mind that one day, we might part company, and I'd possibly want to be able to sell it. So I keep the reigns a little tight. But that pistol was a full blown bashing! I'm not even sure I'd fire a full power Magnum with that cylinder...
Excellent rescue operation there. You could get $600 for it, I'm sure.
I read about this pistol in a book once, I think. "The Ugly Duckling"...

OK, you simply MUST tell what you know about the old work. What happened to the side plate and the barrel?

It got a new side plate, barrel, cylinder, and all new insides. The frame was a square butt cut up, so I made it a round butt out of it.

I meant what happened the first time. Why would anyone cut away a side plate like that, unless they were making some kind of non-firing display to show the lockwork? And the barrel ? I got nothin' for that...

Fantastic job, John. I'm truly impressed with your work. I'd say it's worth more than $500.00, easy. Again, congratulations on a job extremely well done.

When I first looked I wondered what was special about it. Then you showed the "before" photo. You've done a great job on it. What the *** did the previous owner do to it, and why. Is he still in the psychiatric hospital?

I'd like to add my own 'Well done' to the list. I remember hearing a saying about making a 'silk purse out of a sow's ear'.
If you don't mind what was your original purchase price?

John,
I think there's a special place in heaven for anyone who can do that kind of job on a badly abused Smith.
Outstanding!
