Default Interesting Model 19

Here is an unusual Model 19-8. The barrel is marked 38 Special. The gun will chamber a 357 however. Also I have not seen the frame marked with so many numbers. I will have to do a little research and possibly send for a letter. If anyone has info on these guns I would like to hear about it. This is the most moder Smith I own so my knowledge is rather deficient on these guns. Sorry for the poor photos, I have to work on that.

I believe the gun came like this from the factory, the SCSW mentions 19-8 with 38 Special markings as being produced as a special order but does not elaborate. It also says they were square butt but this is round.

Get a letter and it'll say if that's the case.

Yours was part of a special order for a south american police agency.

Smithnut has one IIRC, and knows all the details. Perhaps he will be along shortly.

Nice 19, congrats! Regards 18DAI.

SCSW #3 (pg 188) lists Product code 148929 as a 4" "Marked .38 Special but chambers .357 #CDP9361". That must be your product code.
