Default New Rimfires in the family

Just returned from the WPB gunshow here in south Florida...

After an initial primary search it sure fealt like it would be slim pickens out there for wheel gun enthusiasts.
I was mid way through the more thorough secondary search phase of the operation when a very beautiful and clean 30 year old 17-3 (middle) poked her head out and asked if I was interested in taking her home.

After a few rounds of obligitory haggling she was all mine , even came with a spare pair of Herrets shoes for dress up later.

You would think I would have learned my lesson after the taller 8 3/8" 17-4 model (top) pulled that same routine on me last month at the Ft Lauderdale show......

$475 lighter I headed for the exit door as I admired my new aquisition.
Suddenly a man approached me reaching in his jacket pocket, He produced this little pre IL 317 Airweight and asked if I wanted to take her home too.
A quick examine revealed it was in excellent condition but quite filthy for a 13 year old .
Although kinda unappealing dressed in an unexciting set of black CTC Laser grips ( now on my M-49) I knew in my heart that factory wood J's would really dress her up nicely.
I quickly whipped out my wallet and completed the transaction and headed for the parking lot.

Now a quick shower and change of clothes so i can go into work 12 hours of Overtime and pay for the days adventures...

Surprisingly it did turn out to be a good day after all.

It always feels good to let a little cash go for some heirlooms!

I kind of wish you hadn't posted that pick of that 8 3/8 model 17, I kind of feel like a new grail gun search may be coming on.

Congrats on the new acquisitions, I'll bet you're quite pleased.
