MODEL 65 FACTORY UNCLE MIKE GRIP
Hello,
I'm a new owner of a Model 65-3 I found on Guns America and I'm going to have to wait at least 10 days to get "her" into my hands at my Raleigh, NC FFL.
I have been researching the Model 65s ever since I missed grabbing a 65-6 last month in a small town pawnshop for $429...stupid is as stupid dones! Called back 3 days later after starting my research and she was GONE!
The pawnshop 65-6 had the factory installed Uncle Mike's rubber grip and seemed to be very comfortable. And, it is still available for purchase on S&W's on-line store. However, I have not seen any photos of a 65 or a 64 with this grip installed or any feedback about this grip.
Does anyone have a Model 65 with this grip and have any shooting experience to relate?
I have looked for this grip on Ebay, Gunbroker, Auction Arms with no results. So it seems the only place to get them (new) is from S&W.
Sooo, please relate any good or bad experiences with this factory grip.
Thanks!

Uncle Mike's was bought by a competitor and the first thing they did was stop making the grips, I don’t know if they still produce for S&W of if these are old stock but if they have any I would grab them. I really like they material they are made of and the way they are shaped, they feel good to me, better than Houge or Pachmayr. They are a good grip for a K frame round butt.

this 66-4 came with UM conversion grips. they fit my medium size hands pretty well, but the round butt UMs fit much better.

I always wondered who bought them, I am still kicking myself for not getting a few pair of the boot grips for the J, K, and Taurus small frames.

Jughead...thanks for the great pix...best I've seen of the UM grip even though its on your 66 and not on a 65. It looks to me like they were speced (specked) by S&W to stay clear of speedloaders. If you go onto the S&W online store, you will see them still available which probably (hopefully) means they still have some NOS...just wait until I go there to buy a set for my coming 65. BTW, what's the "feel" like? Are they "solid" like the Delrin's on autos, or a little "squeezeable" like a roll of Charmin? In my first, brief encounter I do remember that the fingergrooves felt very ergonomic/comfortable.
Thanks...more pix anyone???

Gentleman,
I just got off the S&W website on line store and ordered a K/L round butt grip for $28.31 plus 6.50 ground shipping. So, if you want one and I didn't get the last one...go for it! Sorry, the link to the page won't drag into one of these frames. When you get to revolver grips, go for Rubber Grips.
Thanks, Bob
