The special production "Texas Hold 'Em" was introduced in 2005. The product code is 161492. The serial number series started with TEX0000. SCSW-3 says the retail price range was $800-$1,080. No info on how many were produced.

My local gun store had a couple back then - they didn't sell very quickly. Probably was a combination of high price and a "too pretty to shoot" gun. If I recall correctly, he had the guns priced at $795. For that price, you could buy a couple of NIB shooting guns.

Is $650 a good price? If you plan to use it as a shooter, just buy a plain M36 and save yourself $200 or so. As a collector piece, its highest value was probably in 2005 when it was introduced. It may never be worth more than $650 - or it may increase in value if you wait long enough. Special edition guns seldom hold their original values in the non-collector market place.

That's my 2 cents worth. ;)
