I recently acquired a Model 27-9 that is missing a screw. I have heard it referred to as the "fourth screw", and the "top side plate screw". It is the largest of the four side plate screws and is at the top of the side plate just below the rear site adjustment.

I have requested this screw twice from Smith and Wesson customer service and both times they have sent the screw, but it has been the wrong one. They seemed to understand my description and the location of the missing screw, but I just can not seem to get the correct one.

Does anyone have a suggestion or perhaps a detailed parts diagram where I may get a good part number for this screw?

It's been rather frustrating trying to obtain this simple part.

BTW, the gun is the blued version.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would call Brownell's & talk to one of their customer service people. They are really helpfull.
I've gotten parts from them before & was very satisified.
