I ordered a Primary Arms Micro red dot (Aimpoint T1 replica) last Saturday morning. It arrived today (talk about fast shipping!). I initially intended to put it on my GSG-5 rifle, but the scope mount I have for it is apparently out of spec and the sight wouldn't mount securely. Instead, I decided to try it out on my PC 686 Hunter.
Went to the local indoor range and put 150 rounds of .38 Special (American Eagle FMJ 130 grain) through it. It took me about 10 rounds to zero it in. The sight held zero with no problems. 11 brightness settings (well, technically 10) seem to be more than sufficient for different lighting conditions. The sight weighs only 4 oz. so I did not feel a substantial difference in weight. The cost is also very reasonable--$85 shipped via USPS priority mail--and well worth it. Overall, I like the sight a lot and strongly recommend it.
Haven't tried it with .357 yet, but given that many people put these on .308 rifles and 12 gauge shotguns (read some reviews on ARF) and are satisfied with the results, I'm sure that it would do just fine with the magnums.
