My 681 is my only L frame. Great shooting gun. Yours looks awesome. Love the combat grips.

Every time I see a photo of a 681, it causes me to remember the NYC gun laws where you weren't even allowed to TOUCH a handgun if you didn't have a pistol license... You all know where I'm going with this!
Meanwhile, I was recently at the range with my 686SSR shooting fast double taps with magnum ammo, so it's not as though I'm completely bereft.

These fixed sight "L" frames are two of the best looking revolvers ever to come out the factory, IMO.

Lovely (and I really like the holster) even though I'm not normally a fan of the pseudo-Python full lug.
Never tried the combats before, but the square-butt magnas with a T-grip or clone fit my hand perfectly on my K frames, so I haven't felt much need to explore different grips for them.

The 681 is a great revolver--one of the best S&W ever made.
Enjoy it!!!!

The Magna PC grips that came on this gun are put safely away.

Very nice! Have you shot it yet? I got one of the Sportman’s Warehouse PR ones that was rough as rough could be. Cleaned the rust off and polished up and when I finally got it out to shoot it put 12 rounds in about 1/2” at 15 yard. Might be my best shooting Smith so far.

No matter how beautiful something is, there is always someone who thinks it's ugly.

Fixed sight L frames. As they say, “everything you need, nothing you don’t.”

I have always had a thing for fixed sight revolvers. They have an all business look to them.

The M681 is my favorite shooter. I acquired mine in 2014 after a long search.
