It makes a great woods gun.
As far adj vs fixed sites
Adj is nice as you it is easier to set them for the load you choose. Most also find the S&W adj sites easier to see than the fixed.
Fixed is more durable and less likely to break if the gun is dropped. They are also "smoother" for lack of a better term and less likely to snag on clothing while drawing from concealment. If fixed don't shoot POA some adjustments can be made such as filing down the front site, if that is the adjustment needed, otherwise it is good ol' Kentucky windage.
