460 accuracy problems
I need help with my 8 3/8" 460XVR. It's a NRA limited ed. model. I sent it back to S&W in Oct. for poor accuracy, and lead spitting. It's cut most of the paint off my rest. They recut the forcing cone, and the lead spitting stopped, but the accuracy is 5+ inches at 100 yds. I sent it back again a couple weeks ago, and got it back today. No work needed, shot 25yds. to their spec.? I sent in targets from 50-100yds, and I marked the cylinder that consistantly pulls 1 shot out of the group 2" at 50 yds. and 4 or more inches at 100. 4 of the shots touch at 50 yds, but the one marked cylinder always pulls out. I tried Hornandy 300 xtp mag bullets, and H110 powder from min. to max. charges in half grain charges. They advertise this as a 250yd hunting handgun. I'm a NRA pistol instructor, IDPA, and IPSC shooter. My last deer this year was shot at 221yds. with a handgun. I wanted to use this in an up coming handgun hunting seminar, but can't with this kind off accuracy. HELP PLEASE
