Chief's special too large for pocket carry?
Just would like opinions from those that own one.
What are your feelings on OTP crossdraw?

I have rarely pocket carried a Chiefs Special but constantly do so with a 340PD Centennial. Neither is too big for me, and I usually wear jeans.

Depends on your build, and your pocket.
The "40's" (Centenials) seem to work well for me, not so well with say a Mod 49 or 649. Ditto with true Chiefs (36/60) with an exposed hammer.
For this type, I prefer casual slacks and front pocket carry. If I'm using an exposed hammer, it's rear pocket all the way, or...dare I say it aloud...the dreaded Mexican Carry (and yeah, I do and like to carry in this manner).

For pocket carry I prefer jackets or coats. If I was carrying a pistol with an exposed hammer, I'd dehorn it before tying to carry it.

It depends on your pockets. It is no problem in khakis like Dockers or something but I have never been able to pocket carry in jeans. I mean you can put the gun in there but you can't really get it out fast. I carry a 640 no dash all day every day at work in my pocket in a Kramer pocket holster and it is fine. You do need some kind of pocket holster to be comfortable and keep the gun from printing and wearing a hole in your pocket.

I carry a Model 36 almost daily in my pocket. No need to dehorn the hammer. I'm using an Uncle Mike's cordura nylon holster that the material covers the hammer. Drawing it presents no problem, doesn't snag on anything. Most pocket holsters will do the same.

No, it isn't too light unless one is very, very feeble. The steel-framed Chief's Special is still a small, light revolver in my view.
In this day and age, it would seem that folks want their concealed carry handguns to be ever smaller and always lighter. This is fine if all one intends to do is carry the piece but is an unnecessary impediment to actually gun-fighting with the thing.
If people are looking for a talisman to ward off evil then a miniature molded plastic squirt gun would be almost the right size and weight as long as it wasn't filled with heavy ol' water. The squirt gun would be a lot cheaper too and most places don't require a license to carry it.
Only one opinion, but the concept of the stunted, lightweight handgun has been taken too far.

When I was young & skinny, I wore my pants tight. Now older, wiser and fatter, I wear "comfort-fit" jeans and pleated-front slacks. The old tight jeans would have posed a bit of a problem with a J-frame; roomier pockets now present no problem for my J-frames, whether they have a spurred hammer, a bobbed hammer, or no exposed hammer at all. I do recommend a pocket holster with ANY pocket-carried gun, even if just to maintain the gun in an upright position or to keep most lint out of it.

I've pocket carried a 36 without problems. To prevent snagging the hammer I got in the habit of putting my thumb on the back of the spur when drawing. This prevents snagging.
I have a 642 now and it's a little lighter, more corrosion resistant, and of course hammerless, but my thumb still goes on the back of the frame where the hammer would be.
Having your thumb on the back of the spur is not a bad habit to get into when placing it BACK in the pocket.
By the way, you might want to check your state laws. Georgia requires a holster for pocket carry.

For pocket carry I prefer a S&W 638 in my jacket inside pocket and for my jeans a S&W642 in my front pocket. Both are in pocket holsters.

I have pocket carried a 60 in an Andrews holster for years without a problem in jeans or cargo style pants. A good belt is key..
