I'm sure they will, they have a pretty good scallop it seems. I'll definitely be checking even though I carry speed strips most of the time.

I'm curious to know the weight of the grips as compared to other J-frame type grips.

those look pretty good, not crazy about the pinkish red looking ones, but the black ones look alright.

Nice.
Are there any G10 grips for N-Frame revolvers? Wouldn't mind getting some for my 627 PC.

Rats! Those are awesome looking grips (and VZ has a really good reputation with the 1911 crowd) but they are two finger grips. I use three finger grips 98% of the time nowdays with my J frames.

I asked them about future plans when I called them to order a set. They said they had no immediate plans to do anything else besides J-frames.
Maybe if enough people buy the J-frame grips, it will encourage them to expand into the S&W revolver grip market.
To the best of my knowledge, VZGrips is the only company making G10 grips for S&W revolvers. I called Hogue and they said they had no plans on offering G10 grips for revolvers.

They're very nice looking. I'm eagerly awaiting a review.
I hope you guy that have ordered have better luck than me, however. I've been 10 weeks and counting on a set of 1911 grips...

That sucks! I've already received email confirmation and tracking from USPS, but the USPS tracking sucks compared to UPS/FEDEX. Hopefully they'll be here in the next couple days or first of next week.

I have these VZ grips; they're quite nice. They're alternating layers of G10 and carbon fiber.

I just bought a pair of Black Cherry grips for my Rohrbaugh a couple of weeks ago, and I am way more impressed seeing them in person and how they have completely changed the feel of the R9s for the better.
Still, I hadn't even considered VZ's for my J-frame Smiths.
I guess now I need to reconsider...

Sonny/everyone,
I got my grips yesterday and stuck them on my 640 no dash. Unfortunately I do not have pictures. However, suffice to say that they look just as good as Sonny's.
Two observations: First, they are heavy. I feel a noticable difference in weight between the G10 and the Hogue Bantums. I don't have a scale I can use. However, I would put the weight difference at almost two ounces.
Second, the fronstrap on the bottom finger groove comes to a bit of an edge. I think I understand why they did this, to reduce material and weight. However, I think that may be uncomfortable when shooting. I will have to wait until I can get to the range to confirm this.
Overall a very well made grip. VZ Grips should be commended for taking this project on.
I really need to try and find some way to find the weight difference between the VZ G10's and the Hogue Bantums.

Sonny,
How does the weight feel to you relative to other grips?

I just got mine the other day. I too thought they were "heavy" for their size. Overall I'd give them a "meh." Mine have a bit of a gap at the front and they're definitely not "the most comfortable J Frame grips you have held." Think I'm going to return them and go with Ahrends Round Butt Smooth. Had a pair of those on a 638 and really liked them.

I e-mailed VZ Grips to ask about the weight and they replied that their J-frame grips weigh 2.8 ounces.

I did notice when I pulled them out of the shipping box that they seemed heavy. Compared to the Uncle Mikes boot grips they seemed about the same weight to me.
I'm waiting on a co-worker to show up and we're heading to the range so I'll see how these feel when being shot. They feel a little slick, interested to see if they move alot in my hands.

I just ordered a set of these for my 317, and can't wait to slap them on. I have a set of VZs on my 1911, and they're the cat's pajamas. The 1911 grips feel lighter than the stock rubber ones, I imagine the J frame grips should be lighter than the stock rubber too. If the G10 J-frame grips catch on, they'll probably start to offer them in micarta too, which will be lighter than G10 if that's an issue for some folks.
First post, long time lurker. Howdy folks!

I believe the Uncle Mike's boot grip is formed around a metal plate. So it would not surprise me to find out that the VZ G10's and the Uncle Mike's weigh about the same.
VZ lists the weight of their 1911 grips for using various materials on their Web site. By my calculation, a linen micarta grip would weigh in at about 1.6 ounces. Hogue states on their Web site that their J-frame bantam grip weighs 1.4 ounces.
VZ's made out of linen would be the shnizzle as far as I'm concerned.

Well I have some not so good news.
Went shooting earlier with the red set on my 36-7 and the black set on my 642-1. All I can say is OWW! The bottom of the grip is flat and digs into my pinky when firing. The dished out area for the speedloader also digs into my thumb and web area when firing.
Needless to say I wasn't very happy. I came home and swapped my Uncle Mikes back on both and will be contacting VZ about a solution. If I can't return them they will be for sale if anyones interested.
This is just me and my experience. I still believe VZ makes a quality product. Just think it needs a few more rounded edges and maybe some checkering too, as they also seem a little slick to me.
