I have a 60-7 dated to 1994. A S&W buff replied to my question that "S&W began a heat treating package on the model 60 starting in 1990 with the 60-7 which made them +P rated." That's all I know. Based on that, I carry it with Hornady +P ammo. Just passing on what I was told by a source I considered reliable and knowledgeable.
