Mokula do you have a good idea on what the value of this gun is?
Thanks for posting this gun and for the resonses. It made me look into the Standard Catalog and do some research. An interesting variation and one I would not have suspected existed.

As posted earlier, anything under $1000.00 is a good deal on the pre-lock 627s, but condition is everything. I think a well used shooter-grade pre-lock gun would still fetch over $700.00 while a factory original mint in the box with all would exceed $1200.00 to a collector with a 627 problem, like me.

Looks like I'm getting a solid price. I'm at the bottom end of your price scale. The gun has only been shot a handful of occasions. There are a couple of very minor scratches in it that “might only be seen or cared about by a collector”. It also has no box or papers.
In the end, whatever I bought was going to become a shooter. I wanted a cheap, well worn Pro Series just for a lesser expensive gun, but those didn’t exist. When I saw what Bud’s got for a used Pro I figured I may as well get this PC gun for a reasonable price.

I picked up my 627-PC from the FFL today!! Very excited.
According to the bill of sale provided by the seller, it has serial # BDM0xxx. The serial number is not stamped inside on the yoke - I presume it's on the frame under the grips. I will confirm number when I can take the grips off.
If y'all with "The Book" have anything to add or correct based on the new serial # please let me know.

I would guess he did. I just wasn't paying attention to him - working on the form and playing with the gun.
Hadn't seen a serial number on the top strap before. Serial number is confirmed.
