Default I ordered a 625 PC today!

I ordered up a S&W 625 PC today. I got the version with the red, white, and blue grips. With any luck, it'll be here in time to shoot next weekend.

Last weekend, I shot in a local IDPA shoot and had a good time. I used a Model 15 and some really ****** speedloaders. I hope the 625 with moon clips will be easier to use.

If anybody has one of these, please chime in and let me know what to expect.

Congrats, I ordered a 686 SSR today. The shop owner shoots competitively and told me in his opinion, and what he shoots personally is the 625 and he says its one of the best guns he has ever shot for competition. But he did recommend to me that I start out with the 686 SSR for SSR competition, he said I don't want to jump into EDSRA? Competition until I am proficient in the lower class's.

I just picked up my 625PC yesterday. I really like it other than the grips. I find them too thin and too slick to my liking. I tried it out today with some winchester primers and thought maybe they would work in this gun, but no luck most of them went off. It shot my Federal primer reloads though with no problems.

Hope you enjoy it!

I have one and love it. Very accurate and very quick to reload with moonclips. Be sure to get one of the moonclip tools to both load and unload the cartridges. The gold bead front sight is really excellent. Like an earlier poster I replaced the grips. Grips are very personal and I did not care for the look or feel of the JM-style grips supplied with the gun.

I wouldn't be at all suprized that everyone who actually shoots either version of the 625 replaces the grips. I really do not understand why S&W is equipping what are superb competiton revolvers with what are effectively boot grips.

I have a 625JM coming and was told tonight it will be in tomorrow. I also ordered 2 of the 500 Magnum Monogrips, one for my 610 and one for the 625 last Saturday and S&W didn't ship them until the 24th. Means I'll have the gun but no grip until after the weekend. Oh well, means I can take my time tuning the action. Hopefully the smooth target trigger I ordered from Numrich's will get here tomorrow, Cylinder and Slide already came through with the firing pin and moon clips, got those yesterday.

After seeing so many reports on the accuracy of the 625 at some point I'll probably try it with a scope and see what it can do from the bench at 50 yards. If it's 3 inches or less I'll be one very happy camper.
