Default S&W 386PD

Is there any way to replace the Scandium Cylinder with a
SS cylinder from a 686+ ?

Thanks,
John

They don't have Scandium cylinders. The frame is Scandium. The cylinder is made from Titanium. Big difference. Same solution, call S&W.

Smith and Wesson did not put a Scandium cylinder in the 386, it is titanium. A really good local gunsmith should be able to do the job or I am sure the factory would be willing to do the conversion.

The 6 and 7 shot cylinders have the same outside dimensions. Either would fit, the choice is yours...

John
Smith can give you the exact cost, but it's probably in the vicinity of $150, not including labor. Some fitting and tuning is required.

May I ask why you want to do this? I have a 386/sc and it is not a pleasant gun to shoot 357.

If it were mine: I'd put the 6 shot stainless cylinder in the weapon. Steel trumps wonder metals. More steel between charge holes even better.

If you can't get him in six he has probably gotten you or escaped.
