I use a Kramer IWB clip holster made for a 2" K frame when carrying my J's at 1 o'clock. Sometimes I'll use a Remora no-clip IWB or a Lobo Gun Leather offset clip IWB.

This one worked daily for 24 years when I was on the LAPD. I still carry it in retirement. Made by my neighbor in Burbank when I was on probation. Simple is good.

Roger that; John Hurst died about 3 years ago. They're Micarta and the most comfortable stocks I've tried on a J-frame. Here they are with another set by John, in hand-checkered Coco-bolo.

I've used Don Hume for years, but I've recently switched (as with just about everything I own - I'm really pretty much using these with everything I carry nowadays) to Remora no-clip IWB, which just work better for me (they don't move, they protect the gun, they hold the gun still, they don't cost a lot, they're sweatproof, etc.).

FYI... This one works well appendix if you're using a good 1.5" leather gun belt...

We know the advantages for carrying the S&W J frames however we also know they can be less comfortable & concealable than pistols designed for concealed carry due to their thickness. A new design IWB style unit for appendix carry may be what you are looking for. It’s called the Stealth Defense “Strut” Holster.

Seriously . . . ?
I mean this has to be the very first time in my life - and I've been carrying J-frames since the mid-'80s - that anyone has suggested this to me.
Welcome to the Forum, though. Hi-larious video at that Stealth Defense site.

That's what I love about the Remora - infinite IWB carry methods.

Alessi APX, hands down the best holster I've ever found for a J frame. I carry a M&P 340 nearly every day and various clothing combinations. Can't recommend enough.

Take a look at Sticky holsters. Similar to the Remora. The Sticky holsters are $25 and have a lifetime satisfaction guarantee, if you don't love it, they will refund your money, no questions ask.
Put the gun in the holster and stick it at whatever position you like, including your pocket.

I have a DeSantis for my j-frame and one for an LCP. The LCP holsters clip can be taken off and then converts to a pocket holster. Both work great.
I recently picked up a BobbyMac holster. Great construction but at custom prices.
My favorite pocket holter is my Mika.

This might seem unconventional, but I've used a Bianchi 3S "Pistol Pocket" for AIWB cross-draw carry while seated in my vehicle. It works, isn't uncomfortable (for me) and is a nicely made holster for the money to boot, but it's also a little on the large side for a J-frame (it's more suited for a S&W M-10 snub or a Colt DS).
I've actually been considering a Ritchie Leather Co. "Stinger," which is essentially an Alessi APX made by Skip Ritchie.

Lately I've been using a High Noon Mr. Softie with J-hook clip for appendix carry of my .38 640. It works pretty well and has a reinforced mouth. Last I checked, High Noon had them on the website at less that $30.

This one has been in here before, but it's still appropriate. Made by "Bell Charter Oak"...a S&W vendor. A superb holster for a J-frame. It's a lefty.

So why are we carrying 6 rounds in a speed strip for a 5 shot revolver? Not trying to be a dick, just curious.

Someone help me here please. I've tried appendix carry with a J-frame in an IWB holster and it just doesn't work for me. How do you keep it from digging into your crotch or lower abdomen?
I'm 5' 10" and 175 lbs and it just doesn't work for me when I sit down. It seriously digs in. Am I missing something here?
I pocket carry (daily) a J-frame and a K-frame on the waist, but I just can't make a J-frame work for me IWB period, much less in the appendix position. Again, any hints?

Have a look at Biancchi Professional, very easy on and off, with a guard for your soft spots.

I don't have a pic of it, but I like the Ace Case IWB holster. They make both a tuckable & a non-tuckable, I prefer the non-tuckable since it's a bit less bulky. They look & are rather flimsy, but this is a good thing when stuffing a gun & a holster inside my britches when it's already a tight fit for just me. They're cheap too- about $17 delievered or two for $20, so it's not a bank-breaker if you turn out not to like it. Ace Case Manufacturing, LLC
Appendix IWB carry of a 2" j-frame is surprisingly comfortable, although unlike pocket-carrying my Ruger LCP I am always aware I have the gun. I did have to carry that way for a day or so before I got used to it and also found the "sweet spot" combination of position and cant that works best for me. A-IWB conceals surprisingly well also.

Missing some padding? I'm 5-10 215 and some would call fat but it works for me. Hides my gun and pads me from the sharp edges. Ha!.
It takes some practice. I can't wear kydex in the front but a good leather holster works. I move it around a lot. It rides up high when I sit and shove it down in when I get up.

You're kidding, right? I didn't realize it was against the rules to have 6 extra rounds...whether the weapon holds 5, 6, 7...it's not a speed loader, where you load all the rounds into the cylinder simultaneously. With a speed strip, you load at most 2 at a time. One extra round MIGHT come in handy.
Bob
