Default Question about bodyguard

I bought a .38 Bodyguard not to long ago and was looking around the internet for other guns like it but can't seem to find many other people that have them. I don't figure its too rare but every other new bodyguard i've seen has a laser, mine doesn't. Does anybody know much about these revolvers?

Welcome to the Forum. Several different guns have the Bodyguard name. If your user name is the gun in question, you have an alloy J frame in matte blue with a steel cylinder. An earlier version of this one was the model 38, or the 49 with a steel frame. Put the number 6 instead of 4 in front of your gun and it is silver alloy with a stainless cylinder. Lastly, there is the latest version with a polymer lower frame, with the laser. Not to mention the Bodyguard .380 auto...

Simple, right? Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the explanation. So the bodyguard with the laser that I see all the time is the polymer version? I wasn't crazy about the laser so I'm glad I found model.

Yes, the polymer BG has the built-in laser. Enjoy your 438!
