586 or 27??

Wonderful to see you back amigo. I think about you and your family often and do hope the healing power of prayer and the passing of time is working its' magic.

I have both, and while the 586/686 is a fine weapon, the 27/28/627 is just more of a classic S&W IMHO. I am not selling the 586 I own and I still shoot it often, but I never quite fell in love with the full under-lugged barrel. If it had the classic barrel I would probably go with the L frame instead of the N Frame M27.
