Default Ever hear of a 681 labeled as 68-1?

Howdy,

My father purchased a 4" 681 years back and was showing it to me. He kept saying that sure is a nice 68-1... and I am like that the heck are you talking about? Sure enough... open the crane and it is stamped 68-1... So... Has anyone ever heard of this error? or is it actually a 68-1?

The serial # is ADE1XX

Thanks for any input. She sure is a beauty!

That has been mentioned here before. Apparently a few came through so marked.
I have an early 681, but that one's marked properly.

Funny this comes up tonight. I was just reading my SCSW tonight and it mentions "at least one Model 681 is stamped 'MOD 68-1.'" Looks like your father has a rare gem.

The serial dates it to1983.
