Default Model 649 ~ Back From S&W

I picked up this Model 649 last year off of Gun Broker. It was a police trade-in. I got it at a great price. It shot awesome, but, had a little end shake. Also, I discovered when I cleaned it, if I did not hold the cylinder tight it would jump over the frame stud. It would also do this at times when I ejected empty casings.

I called S&W and was told they could replace the frame stud on older models. I thought it was a part of the frame, rather than a separate piece. They replaced the frame stud and corrected the end shake for $62.00. That's a bargain on an older non-warranted gun.

It locks up now like a bank vault (no end shake), and the frame stud works like it should.

+++1 for S&W Customer Service.

Great looking gun, and $62.00 to get it up to spec, what a deal.
