Default Couple of questions about my M60

I recently picked up a model 60 and was wondering if it is capable of shooting +P ammo. Also, could someone give me an idea of its age? Serial #BAA45xx. I added a pic below of my little gem. Thanks for any help...

As far as the +P question, comes down to a matter of opinion. Personally, I have no problem with +P. Understand it will accelerate wear.

I wasn't able to find the BAA prefix. Are you looking at a M60 or is it a - something?

Regardless, you have a fine revolver. Hope enjoy it as much as I do mine.

Probably because that +P question has been asked here about a zillion times already.

Short answer: yes, you can shoot +P ammo safely in that gun. Nuanced answer: why would you want to? If you are thinking enhancement for self defense purposes, I'm not sure how much more oomph (technical term) you're going to get with the short barrel. I can tell you from experience you'll definitely get brighter muzzle flash, louder report, and harsher recoil. It's no fun, and given you should practice with what you are going to stake your life on, look forward to not enjoying shooting it. Load it up with the non-+P load Hornady Critical Defense and you'll have an entirely adequate combination.

Your Model 60 most likely dates to 1988.

Ok thanks for the replies. The main reason I ask about the +P is I sold my 637 and .357 K frames, but still have a couple of boxes of the stuff lying around. I did not want to use it in a gun not rated for it. I doubt I will use it often though. Thanks for the date Goony
