like the title says I have a question about my 629-1, what can you guys tell me about it? I'm not up on gun "stuff" anymore, wonder what it worth?, and problems with this model? anything to watch out about it? any help will help
thanks, I look forward to many more post looks like a great site.
I just traded for a 629-1 but have not fired it yet....wifey won't stand still long enough to acquire target....just kidding.
Can't wait to hear it go boom...
The 629-1 revolvers were from the 1982 - 1988 years. They are well built guns with quality parts.
In 1988 they went to the 29-2, in 1989 the 629-2E endurance package, and later in 1989 the 629-3. These changes helped strengthen the yoke and cylinder timing parts.
Some have had lock-up issues in the early 629's, and other shooters have run thousands of full magnum rounds with no problems.
I have a 629-1 that I have been trying to sell for quite some time now for $600.00 and no takers. I guess the big drawback is that it carries an 8-3/8" bbl. It is in excellent condition, but again, my longest 629 sports a 5" bbl.
