I'm thinking of collecting 442s. Will the Smith & Wesson Standard Catalog be a good source of info.?

It sure wouldn't hurt.

Anybody who collect's any S&W firearm should have it handy as a reference.

You'll have to include its predecessors the 42 and the safety hammerless.
