Default 24-3 Lew Horton

Got this one out of the box and took outside this morning playing around with lighting, etc. Trying to improve pics. I sure would like to carry this one but it is just too pretty.

Regards

Bill

Very nice! I've made a trade for one of those and hope to have it soon.

Likewise, I've owned one for a while now, and I really enjoy shooting it. A four-inch might be a tad more balanced, but that N frame and .44 Special ammo surely are a great pair.

Carry it man. A 3" N frame in special.....simply can't be beat. I carry the same thing only stainless (624-3).

Great looking 24-3. I shoot mine quite often and love it. I like the wood on yours too.

HMMM. I never heard of a 624-3. Is that something new? All of the 624's I've seen, are just marked 624.

You're right. My brain must have tripped over seeing the 24-3 on the screen and I wrote 624-3 unintentionally. Mine's a 624.

I kind of thought that was what happened. The only reason I caught it, is because I have two of the 24-3's. I think they are the most beautiful guns around. You'll like your 624. The 44 special is one of the best rounds there is. It is mild to shoot, and will still shoot through many game animals from end to end, with a moderate load.(950-1000 FPS), with a 250 grain bullet. It's also a great defense round, that's easy to control.

This may be heresy to some of you but I've often wished LH had come out with a 3.5" barrel for their abbreviated version of the 24-3 and 624. They would have looked a little like this:

only done a little cleaner.

I was going to add my .02 worth on how much of a difference does an extra 1/2 inch really make... when I heard my wife start to laugh uncontrollably. She just came into my home office to ask me what I wanted for lunch and I didn't know she was standing there behind me looking over my shoulder

hacker,

I'll leave the humor to your wife and just say about guns, 1/2" may not make much difference in terms of velocity, etc. but I think it looks better than 3" on the N-frame and balances better too. YMMV!
