I asked this same question in a thread back after I picked up the paper catalog at NRA in May. No one knew the answer.
The picture at the link clearly shows a Model 66 type underlug, while the paper catalog did show a full lug like a 686.
Apparently, the answer is still not known.
I hope it is NOT the full lug like the 686, and I prefer the classic look of the traditional Combat Masterpiece, which is NO ejector rod shroud or lug.
I note, however, that the blue version in the Classic line, the Model 15, is pictured with the Combat Magnum Model 19/66 type of ejector rod shroud (I dislike the term half-lug, but that is what people call it now).
So, I guess it is possible that they have tried to make the 67 and the 15 the same, in order to resemble the old Models 19 and 66, since they will not make K frame .357 Magnums now.
What I really wish is that they would make the 686 with the standard old ejector rod shroud (half-lug) with the 7 shot cylinder. The 686 Mountain Guns they made a few years ago were just the ticket, but I missed the boat, and wish they would do it again.
