Default More 25-2 details

I bought this 25-2 from local collector and thought at first it might be a LH. Once I checked the s/n (N8 999XX) I was convinced it wasn't. It has two of the characteristics of a Behlert -"The snub "N" frames had three characteristics: the rounded ejector housing, a ball-detent crane lock but not the "K" round butt Pachmyer grips after the frame was rounded." I put a set of N combats on it and noticed it's not the best fit along the backstrap. I may try a set of K round butt Pachmyers to see how they fit.

If someone has more info about this revolver / Behlert I'd like to hear it.

I haven't had this 25-2 lettered - that may be next.

Nice gun, you're lucky to have it. I have a Behlert 25-2 and a couple of his 1911s, he did some really incredible work. A couple of other mods on his revolvers were a smaller hammer spur and smoothed/rounded trigger. I can see in your pic that the grip doesn't fit right, try the Pachmayr K/L RB Compacs, they fit well on mine and the gun points really well with them. Where is the ball detent on your crane? My gun has it in the underlug, it was loose so I had it repaired and another put in thd top of the crane. I've seen a number of his guns with jeweling, one of my 1911s has a jeweled hammer and barrel. Post some more pics for us.

There's a lot of info on pistolsmith.com about Austin Behlert, he was posting on there for a couple of years before he
died. All of his posts are still there, very interesting reading.

Thanks for the info WC145 - I'll have to check it out.

The ball detent is in the underlug.

Any idea if there are any records on the guns Behlert customized?

Default A few more picture of 25-2

Here's a few more picture of the 25-2. You can see the jeweled trigger and hammer and the underlug detent. There are no markings on either side of the barrel.

These are my favorite N-frames:

Behlert custom 25-2

Mag-Na-Port custom 29-10, it rec'd some extra work from Dietrichs

This 327NG got some work at Dietrichs as well, it's my favorite field gun
