Default Flashlight for M&P R8

Anyone have any recommendations for a flashlight that will work to mount on the under the barrel rails on an R8? Would like to set this up for home defense.

Thanks.

I have been leaning towards getting a Streamlight for my TRR8. They have been recommended to me by several people.
Here is a link to their selection: Tactical Gun Mount Series | Streamlight
The one I am most interested in at the moment is: Tactical Gun Mount Series - TLR-2® G | Streamlight
It has a light and green laser. I may just get a light only though and put a red dot on the top rail. I would be interested in others opinions.

No rec as to flashlight, but a reminder to everyone:

Remember not to hold the revolver like a semi-auto by grasping the front lower edge of the frame in order to be able to operate the light while holding the revolver with both hands as can be done with an auto.

Firing the revolver with your hand out there can cause serious injury or even result in cutting off a portion of your fingers from the blow torch like effect of the fire and hot gas escaping from the barrel/cylinder gap. Be careful.

Too far forward for easy access.

A bit too large, but has the advantage of a pigtail socket, which can be run back to where the hands are.

S&W ought to have somebody do a small light with a pigtail and then charge too much for it! I might reconsider getting another if they do. A steel frame or stainless would make me rather more enthusiastic also.

Thanks for the pics jaymoore. Those issues are exactly why I started the thread. The length of the rail and it's postion re: the lug had me concerned about what lights would work.

I'll keep looking.
