Default S&W Competitor?

I saw one yesterday, what's the story on it? The one I saw looked like an N frame, 6 shot, and it had weights in the underlug. Anyone know something about them? They had a HEFTY $1800 price on it. Cool but not that cool :-)

These are current production in .357 and .44 Magnum; either Guns or American Handgunner magazine recently had an article about them. The .44 seems to be in the $12-1300 range online.

629 and 686 Competitor models, just came out recently. I too read an article about both in one of the more popular firearms magazines.
