After years of looking I finally found another of my must have S&W's- Model 586 no dash with the 8 3/8ths inch tube above 95% condition. The long tom 586's are scarce and many have been drilled and tapped. This one is super clean. Shines almost like the Colt Python, almost. AEN serial prefix should be late 1994 and the grips are stamped Nov 1994. TT, TS but no TH.
The right side of the frame and barrel feature interesting foreign proof marks, so it was sold overseas and made its way home. Bill Bates- Thanks for identifying the proof marks as Belgian, 1999.

On this gun the flaming bombs with L inside indicate Belgian and the F with star (or crown above) indicate French. I still have not found the forth mark.

Nice find. The flaming bomb was used on all the American military guns at one time.

Congratulations as that one is a beauty with an interest history that makes it unique.

That is a beautiful revolver, congratulations on your aquisition, my all time favorite firearm is the S&W 586.

Happy shooting
TJ

You had me at 586.
Shines ALMOST like a Python but actually fits my hand and budget.
I'm getting where I prefer the K/L DA pull to the Python.
Wait..... Did I just say that?
Damn!! I've been converted.
A buddy of mine commented on how odd it is that I'm a lifelong Colt fan, yet I own ONE Colt and NINE(at last count) Smiths.
What can I say?? :D
Smiths fit my hands (and budget) a lot better than Colts do.
