I am about to buy a 637 airweight and have seen other members talk about carrying in their pocket. What pocket holster do you think is best?...also what other CCW holsters are recommended?

I carry mine in a tauga pocket holster. nice and soft with enough grip on the outside to hold it in place about 20bucks

Frankly I don't think you can go wrong with most of them. There's a veritable plethora of them out there. Form me, having something that is tacky or rough on the outside is important so that the holster doesn't come out with the gun on the draw. I like El Paso's rig. About $30.00....

I like my Side Guard Holsters Minimal Clip for IWB. It can double as a pocket holster in a pinch...

For OWB, I like the old Bianchi 5BHL.....

I have carried a J-frame for years in an El Paso rig like the one above. I have also used an Uncle Mike's rig. I have a couple of others but they're locally made so unless you're at a Dallas Markey Hall gun show I can't tell you where to find one but they're very much like the El Paso rig.

For IWB carry I strongly recommend anyone's version of the famous Summer Special. EPS, Galco. Milt Sparks, etc.

For OWB carry I recommend a Model 10 snub. Why bother carrying a J-frame that way? I do have OWB holsters for J-frames but I can't recall the last time I used one.

I found a Sticky holster in a used box of holsters at a LGS, seems to work well in the pocket as well as iwb. It actually stays put amazingly well for not having a clip.

I like this one from Lobo Gunleather. Simple design made from thin cowhide with the rough side out, it sticks well in the pocket and the gun comes out smoothly every time. Ray is a forum member who does quality work at a fair price with a reasonable turn around time.

I've found several nice pocket/IWB rigs for J-frames in the $1/junk box at the range. Seems folks are not patient with them and either don't learn how to use them or let them break in. Their loss, my gain.
