Probably go for something in the $550 to $700 range. A 3-inch anything will go for a substantial premium. I've bought several Smiths out of shops in Florida and seems to me revolver price there are not unreasonable.

Not $550. That would be a steal. I watch these on Gunbroker when they pop up. Rarely go for under $700, especially in nice condition with all of the goodies. More like $750 to $900 is what they actually sell for.

What is the seller asking?

I was very lucky. I managed to buy one about 8 months ago for $330. It was being used as a rental gun at my local shooting range! It was not in perfect shape, but what a sweet gun. One of my favorites. It is now off at S&W being refinished. They looked over the gun and determined it was all in spec mechanically and did not need any parts replaced or any work done. Just a refinish. So with all of the shipping etc. about $200.
