Default Revolver timing??

Okay, I have two revolvers, a 642 PC that has a super sweet trigger and a GP100 that also has a great trigger. My question is this......I read many threads that mention revolver timing. The last one was HarrisMasher's 686 thread about the timing being off in two cylinders.

What is revolver timing? What are the symptoms if it is off?

Joe

Basically the bolt needs to engage (lock) the cylinder before the hammer falls, in both SA and DA. In my experience, if there's a problem it will show itself in DA. Pull the trigger very slowly and confirm that the cylinder is locked in place just before the hammer falls.

The 6:42 has five rounds in the chamber. If you hold it at in six o'clock hold. You should be able to hit in the 10:00's.

You can also get a pocket time to count how fast you shoot in seconds.

I had 3 model 25-2 acp revolvers in a 1 year period & I benched them all. They were all in time & the ugliest one shot the best.
