Making Offers at B'sGS
I made some offers on a 638 at Buds. Offered within $10 of the "buy now" price. Was repeatedly told my offer was too low. Anybody here been successful with "offers"? Is there some "secret" to the "offer" process? tks..........skraz

Sure, offer what they are asking.
seriously, I have read that offers seem to be within about $5 of the Buy it price before they are accepted.
Great deal, right?

Yes, pay full retail....
I was sadly disappointed in this feature, I think it may be just a marketing tool to tell them when demand is slowing so they don't get stuck with a lot of stuff people don't want anymore.....
Ya beat me to it qballwill! great minds think alike...

It has been posted, probably speculated, that the only reason for Bud's make an offer proposals is to get your contact info into their advertising system. It may also be for reselling your info to other advertisers.
Bait and switch would be to offer a Registered Magnum for $300 then tell you it already sold but they'd make it up to you by allowing you to by a surplus 10 for $279.

The "Make offers" on buds are $5 less than asking price and they accept. I've done it on two guns. Anything more that $5 it gets rejected.

I AGREE, k22fan. ITS A TOOL FOR GATHERING INFO, THAT HAS MANY USES. I ALSO AGREE WITH YOUR ILLUSTRATION OF THE CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH. THINK ABOUT THIS---IF BUD'S KNOCKED $10. OFF THE PRICE OF EVERY GUN THEY SOLD, IT WOULD AMOUNT TO A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY, IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. ITS JUST A LURE TO GET INFO, TO ASSIST THEM IN MARKETING. DO PEOPLE WHO MAKE OFFERS SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVE UNSOLICITED EMAILS ANNOUNCING SALES FROM BUD'S ? ? ? THAT WOULD BE ONE SIMPLE USE THE INFO COULD BE PUT TO……..

Now that you mention it Joe,
I have been getting offers on "sales" since making the offers...........mostly long guns as I recall. Thanks for all the replies. I learn something every day on this forum.

I had better success with making an offer on a Galco Ankle Glove holster. Buds had it priced at $83.96 I believe (that's the current price, at least). I made an offer of $65.00 and it was accepted. Of course, that was before shipping, which made the final price go into the $70+ range.

I made an offer of of $10 under on a Sig the other day and they took it. It was a cheaper Sig and after adding the credit card upcharge my price was just under the regular asking price. I think part of it may be that slower selling guns they will take a little less for.
