How many would pass this up.
If you walked into your LGS and he had brand new s&w N Frames of all barrel lengths marked $599/$699 tell me you would pass them up?
I purchased every N frame he had in the nickel finish.
I don't want to hear any lock bashing or crying just a plain answer.

Yes, that would be pretty tempting, but I'd probably pass too. $600-$700 could get me a really nice classic of some sort or another that would please me better in the long run. Also, I haven't bought a new gun in about 20 years and I probably never will. There's just way too many great buying opportunities out there in used, excellent or even ANIB.

I've tried to like N-frames for decades and have owned quite a few in .357, .44 Special, .45 ACP and .44 Magnum.
But I just can't.

I don't own a nickel handgun of any make or model, and I'm not about to start. But I do like N-Frames, and have probably 5 for every non-N-frame Smith (big hands). Haven't had to buy a S&W with a lock though...

I don't think I could do it. As it is, I'd need a derrick to help me lift and hold one steady enough to shoot.

Yes
I'd have to pass on that. Limited funds make my collecting very particular and for similar money I can find examples of true classics.

I would have a nickel Model 58 for sure and for certain. Of course I'm a poor college student so it's rather a moot point.

Unfortunately, I would stroll by and say "That's a great price on those new N-frames" on my way to the used case.

I couldn't....
I wouldn't want to pass that up but to budget concerns, I'd have to keep walking. I wouldn't want the nickel ones, though.

Even if I wanted to stretch my budget I wouldn't do it just for N frames. I have no interest in .44 Magnums, I already have a Model 27 Classic, and I already have my grail gun, a 25-5 in .45 Colt. I like .38s and .357s, there are other K frames I'd like to have, and even L and J frames. N frames don't excite me much. I don't dislike them - they're just not my primary cup of tea.

At that that price, I would pick up a 3" 629. Even if it was a -6.

Not without checking the used case first. If you need a YES or NO answer only I guess it would be a NO

Only if there was one in 45 caliber, with a 4"skinny barrel. Blued and with fixed or adjustable sights.
Not much interested in anything else.

My guess is that these were NOS Classics, nickel 6.5" 24-6s or similar. Tempting, even as a modern gun, and they will probably shoot well.
Of course, as soon as the NIB supply runs out the prices will probably skyrocket...something about that no longer in production mystique.

Say what you will, those nostalgic old guns may give a warm fuzzy, but they ain't shootin' any better.

Save for very limited runs of guns that have achieved a bit of a cut status, most just keep their value.
I haven't purchased a single gun for collectability...I buy 'cause I like them and like shooting.

Glad you got a good deal on something you enjoy. It wouldn't hold any interest for me, personally, but it's sure great to live in a country where there are so many choices and opportunities.

Anything in 45 Caliber for 600 to 700 . I would have to say 'YES' .
P.C. guns and Scandium framed go for substantially more.
All my 460s have the hole in the frame.
And I do have a set of Modern N frames .
In no particular order a 327TRR , 25-13 Mountain gun, 325 PD, and a Governator.
How many did YOU buy BigBill ??
Allen
These are all fine Modern pistols.

Not that big a fan of nickel or ILs.
Now if they were older blues and stainless-
Short barrels?
Yes, I would buy a couple. Or more.

Only if it was a caliber of configuration I didn't have or liked better. I prefer the older ones much more.

Now, go shoot the snot out of 'em!

P.S. - Lemme know if you bit off a bit more than you can chew during your enthusiastic binge buying. I might be willing to lighten your load... if the price is right.

You're all crazy. If I had the money I'd buy them all, although in CA I'd have to wait 30 days between each before taking them home.
I'm envy of you that have such easy access to used revolvers. I've seen only one used S&W revolver in a store. It happened to be a Model 18 in a pawn shop for $850. I'd rather buy new at that price.....

Okay, now that Rick A has posted photos of the nickled M22-4, I will amend my statement and add nickle to the list.

Assuming I had the money...which I don't...I'd have to see the individual gun. I don't buy guns because I need them. I buy them because I want them. So I'd have to see each gun before I could tell you if I'd buy them or not. I think a lot of the new guns are as ugly as a mud fence...and it has nothing to do with the lock. On the other hand my local dealer has a really pretty "new" Model 27 with a 4" barrel that temps me.
So, a definate maybe.

Thanks.
That one was purchased when available.
The last one I installed I had to make myself.

I purchased every N frame he had in the nickel finish.

No but I still applaud you for your purchase. My N Frames are languishing since my acquisition of an X Frame(500 S&W).

I'm here been resting my lower back has a bad L5 disc now. I beat the freaking prostate cancer to have back problems. I was saving up my mad money I just didn't know why.
I got the new m58/4" new m24/6 1/2", new m57/6" all in nickel. I did go back but the case was empty of the nickel guns.
I knew nothing about the loc at the time but for $699 I would of purchased them anyway.
When the nickel finish is all said and done it will be sought after? Only the m29/4" is offered in nickel now.
I just can't pass up a bargain.
He did have a m625 in 45LC/4" I passed on. But nothing was left, the cupboard was bare.
I was just wondering how many would pass these up?
I made my wish list(want, gotta have list) but the grand total price is not something to figure out and look at. I just need to go slow.
