I bought a model 619 yesterday. (Like new in original box with all factory included accessories, 1/14/08 test fired date).
I prefer adjustable sights on a 4" or larger revolver.
I prefer a square butt on a 4" or larger revolver.
Wood grips are almost always my first choice.
I don't like revolvers with un-shrouded ejector rods.
I prefer 6 over 7 shot revolvers.
I only own and buy pre-lock S&W's.
So then why was I so attracted to this atrocity of my usual preferences!? It's not like I haven't walked away from deals before, but for some reason, as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it.
I haven't had it to the range yet, but my first impressions are extremely favorable. It fits my hand like a glove. Fit and finish is beautiful. Typical S&W quality with tight tolerances and rock solid lock-up. From the limited information I could gather online, it appears these have a 2-piece barrel(?) and had a fairly short production run.
Any information or links shared on this model is greatly appreciated!
