I own a 460 bone collector but have not used it as I am in NY and dont have a permit however I have a house in Fla. and will be shooting it in Oct. my question is how accurate is it at 100yds with an average shooter using 460 200 gr. what should I be able to hit at that distance? I will most likely buy a 2 power scope as I am 72 yrs old and weigh 150 lbs

If you do your part, the 460 is quite accurate. Keep in mind that 100 yard shot with a pistol of any size is pretty difficult. Also keep in mind that you may have your hands full with a gun like that.

Congratulations on your Bone Collector.

You will find the 460 a very capable gun out to 200 yards with practice.

I use a 2.5-8 Leupold scope.

There is a current thread about rings and scopes here you might want to look at.

The factory Hornady 200 ammo is plenty good for what you want to do.

Here is a typical target shouting of the bench at 100 yards for me shooting a 10.5" gun - but the shorter guns shoot just as well, just don't have any pictures. Some days are even better.

Shot off sandbags I would expect it will do 3" - 5" even if you're like me and your eyes aren't so great any longer. I know of deer hunters that consider it a 200 yard deer gun. (I'd never take a 200 yd shot at a deer).

My 12" XVR shooting off a solid rest, and if I have not had any coffee to drink is yielding approx. 4 MOA at 200 meters. Pretty dam good considering most recreational shooters don't take handguns beyond 75 yds. I'm learning that a steady hold is critical to hitting paper. I've noticed that shooting my 460 proficiently has actually helped my long gun hold as well.

thanks guys I guess I will have to practice before I hog hunt at 75 to 100yards. my longest shot with my 44 mag hunter is about 50yds. I have been told the 460 kicks about 3 times as much as my 44
