I have four semi-automatic pistols, three that I bought with an eye toward CC. They are, a SIG P938, a SIG P290RS, and a Springfield XD-s .45.
The P938 was intended to be my EDC, due to its size and weight. But there are numerous design issues (MSH, multipart guide rod, flawed intercept switch, etc.) that give me pause to depending on it to save my life.
I've always liked the appearance of the snubnose revolver, and I was fortunate enough to purchase a Model 360 in .38SPL recently. I replaced the combat grips with Hogue boot grips (I have some wooden grips on order) and replaced the front sight with an XS Big Dot sight. I took it to the range day before yesterday and had a ball running 50 rounds of 158-gr Federal LRN through it.
That was after I put 150 rounds of 9mm 124-gr Blazer Brass through my two 9mm semis (I had the 360 IWB, and only shot it at the end of my session). Since that day, I carried my .45 one day and today I'm wearing my P290RS. To be honest, the 360 wears better! In fact, it seems to disappear in my waistband, whereas the butt of my semis bites into my kidney when I sit, and prints if I'm not careful. No one, absolutely no one, notices my 360.
So I'm not going to give up on my semis, but a full five rounds and a pair of Bianchi Speed Strips gives me all the firepower I can imagine I'd ever need, and doesn't weigh a ton and make a big, bulky package.
Sweet! I've reconciled my lust for new firearms for now. Next month is another story...
