Default S&W J-Frame Combat Grip Rescue

About a week ago, I purchased a set of well used J-frame, combat grips from eBay. They came yesterday and I removed the old varnish with an acetone soak and soft brush. I removed any deep scratches with fine sandpaper and then 0000 steel wool. I used a wood conditioner and wax to finish. They now have a nice satin finish and aren't too slippery.

I wasn't sure if I would like them, but they fit my hand perfectly and feel great. They are now at home on my 60-3.

Anybody else like these besides me?

Beautiful work on the wood. Now they really "shine".

Love to see any wood restored/recycled. Your grips look great and so does the M60! I have a set that used to ride on my M63 4", until it was sold. They now hold down my M60-9. They fit my hand great and since they cover the backstrap they handle mild .357 mag's very well. Although purely for looks I wish they made a set that didn't cover the backstrap, like the ones for the other frame sizes. But they would probably look too skinny. Happy shooting - PEN!
