best belt holster for a 4" M629?
Hi,
I was looking for a good carry holster for my new M629 4" I was considering a Bianchi Thumbsnap or possibly a Galco.
Any other suggestions?

An old Bianchi 5B. Lightweight and unlined. They are a little hard to find, but just keep looking on EBAY. One will show up.

I like the Sourdough Pancake holster by Simply Rugged.

I have the Bianchi Thumbsnap for my 5", It is adequate, I also have the Simply rugged sourdough in Black. I don't feel the weight of the gun with that holster and the Simply Rugged gun belt. It is a great combo, and the prices are very reasonable.

Lobo does a great Threepersons, which you can order with thumb break. They also make thumb breaks in their Model 5 and their enhanced pancake.

I have always made my own leather holsters here's my 629-1 2 1/2" barrel with its holster this way I can control leather thickness and quality
Even with a pre made holster you should wet form it to your gun ???

I have always liked El Paso Saddlery for big revolvers. Had a Tom Threepersons for model 27 3.5" & a General Patton rig for my model 624 4" (I know, should have done the opposite to match gun to holster). Great quality, both have lasted over 30 years.

Can't go wrong with simply rugged. Their pancake has carried my 3" 629 for years.

I second the vote for el paso saddler. I have one of their street combat holsters for my 4 inch 629. With a good belt I hardly know the gun is there sometimes. Conceals very well too.

Holster for 629
I carry my 4 inch 629 in a El Paso saddler Street Combat holster. Very comfy and quick on the draw. Sometimes I forget I have the gun on with a proper gun belt.

R. Grizzle makes excellent holsters (rgrizzleleather.com). He gives military discounts and will expedite your order for a price. I carry my 66-2 in one of his GS2 holsters (see below; belt and speed strip carrier also from R. Grizzle). It keeps the butt held in so tight I had to swap out the target grips I was using, because they were digging into my ribs. But for a N-frame for which concealment is probably not as much of an issue I think I would choose a "Working Man" or "Field Holster".

Another vote for an El Paso Threepersons holster, my 629-1 in one.
I also like the Galco Phoenix:

I would look at Barranti Leather. I really like the Hank Sloan. Very similar to Elmer's everyday holster for his 4" 29.
