Removing Finger Grooves on Grip
I replaced the stock grips on my 637-2 with Hogue Monogrips to better fit my large hands. It worked to a great extent but I do not like the finger grooves.
I have read a good deal on the internet about sanding the grooves off and I still have a question, tho it might be a dumb one.
Do the grooves add gripping surface so that removing them would give me less surface to grip; or does the surface amount stay the same and only the configuration changes.
I don't want to end up with a smaller grip, even if only slightly smaller.

I think if you take off just the tops of the fingergrooves, without thinning the stocks front to back, that the gripping surface area shouldn't change. Hogue makes their wood Monogrip without the grooves and you can also ask them.

I had a set of N, square butt stocks with finger grooves. As usual, my fingers did not fit them right. Got out the Dremel, and reduced the peaks of the grooves. Sanded the reduced area, and touched up with Truoil. Worked out great for me. Bob

I would simply buy a set of grips without finger grooves and be done with it.

not sure what cal. a 637-2 is? suggestion, my2cts, if it is a 357 mag., maybe just start to sand the heights, shoot the rev., you will be able to tell the handleing of the rev., if it twists in the hand, grip has changed. try double tapping a target. you'll be surprised how a weapon will return to almost the same POI, if the grip and your pictured POA is what you started with.

Didn't use a dremel but did it slowly by hand with sandpaper, checking how it felt as I went. Ended up with small raised areas and it feels like a perfect match to my hand, but I can't get to the range until Friday so I won't know till then how well it will turn out.
