64-3 (3inch Barrel)
Need some help figuring out the price on a 64-3 with a 3 inch barrel. Gun is 1982 ANIB. It has the box (numbered to the gun) and every bit of paperwork including cleaning tools. Just trying to see how much to ask for the gun.

I'm no expert, but would guess somewhere between $600-$700. If it were mine, I'd keep it.
When was the last time you saw a 64-3 with a 3 inch barrel ANIB for sale??

S&W K frames with 3" barrels are hot items in my area. I would think $500.00+. I paid just under $300.00 for mine in 2008.

I sold, what I think, was a less desirable item, this year thru GB - an ANIB 645 with AS. The FFL who listed it for me put it up at $1495 - and it sold for $1550. The FFL did a great job - he posted 24 fotos and has a semi-pro studio setup for his pictures. I also have to say, I'm no expert, but I would put it up for at least 1300 and be patient. My 645 took two weeks to sell ...
Edited to add: this is a fabulous forum but not the place to get top dollar for older handguns IMHO. The buying audience here is minuscule compared to GB. Don't get me wrong - I'm not a GB fanboy. There are so many crooks on there it makes my head spin. But, they are a great way to get your Smith exposed to the buying public.

There was 1 like it on Armslist for sale for $595. I tried to make a trade. Owner was not too interested. Was up for sale a couple of weeks. Ad is gone now. Was a -3, with box. FWIW. Bob

A lot depends on your location. Here in So Cal an ANIB 3" S&W anything would start around $650 - $750 and might fetch up to $1K if that special buyer came around. The 3" brings a premium.

3" barrels do bring a premium. Remember as neat as the model 64's are most want the 3" model 65. Also remember that the model 64/65's are working guns and many of us want them just for that reason, and will not pay a large premium for a new condition revolver.
I'm taking a flyer here but I think your package should sell for $525.00 - $550.00 quickly once you find the right buyer.

I would pay up to $700 for your ANIB gun if it were for sale in my area. Try listing it on Gunbroker with a start of $600 and see where it goes. Let me know if you do, so I can get in on the action.

Was at a gun show this summer and a friend had a 64 3 inch in his display case. Not one person all weekend touched it. He said that he could not believe it. I told him that they were not good sellers-too odd. It came home with me. Price as they say is too low to print.

I would say this is the norm after research. If you are going to sell it, do it now, gun sales are slumping. These may be at their highest value now until the next election.

That stainless 65 is a beauty! The 3" K frame is perfectly balanced and the heft provides a stable platform for launching whatever caliber it is chambered for.
No safe Queen I carry this gun, Shoot it too. Very accurate and easy to shoot.
