2 1/2 model 66 holster.
Gents,
I have a 2 1/2" barreled model 66-2 that I would like to find a holster for. OSWB is preferable as I will likely only carry this one while hunting or hiking. Suggestions.
Thanks,
Bob.

If you don't require a thumb snap retention then Azula is a great value. I wore one with my 3" M629 for a year. My brother has that holster now and it's certainly high quality leather and stitching!

While I do not have a photo of one of mine, I am quite fond for the Galco Concealable
It is also an open top holster.
I have them for various snubs and autos and they really carry close into the body

I use the Lobo Model 1 Dual Carry holster in the photo below. It relies upon the depression into the trigger guard to retain the gun or you can add a strap or thumb break. That one has the smooth leather lining and hammer guard options.

I have a Lobo Enhanced Pancake that is about perfect for my 3" 65 but worked just as well for the 2.5" 64 when I had it. They will make you one for whatever barrel length you want.

For hunting and/or hiking? You may have a rifle slung over strong side
shoulder? If so, I suggest looking for a holster you can wear cross-draw.
Open tops are great for carrying OWB concealed by shirt or jacket,
but for OWB open carry, especially in the woods, I prefer a retention
strap.
The so called "field style" holsters were made for OWB carry and being
vertical, they work well for cross-draw too.
There are usually a lot of choices on ebay. Here are a couple of mine.
On the left a Hunter model 1100.
On the right an S&W "Wessonhide" model 19.

I have many Lobo holsters and like them fine. I do prefer the snap loop style to allow for on and off the belt without removing the belt.

Bianchi 111 Cyclone cross draw....... hiking, hunting or riding a ATV/SXS I like the gun in front of my hip.......thumb snap retention ..... can be pushed back to 9 O'clock for deeper concealed carry if needed.....
My favorite with my 3" 66 in Penn's Woods

Everyone has great ideas concerning holsters. Many different choices to be had. I carry my 2 1/2 M66 in a Rodek pancake holster. Less than $50, and it has a snap for retention. I carry this while hunting, and a snub M60 in the same brand holster on a daily basis. Have had them for a few years now and still like new. I don't have a camera for pictures, but they have a website.

I have carried my 66 in a Buckheimer C-52 LH that I bought used in a Lafayette gun store long ago.
Couldn’t find it When I tried to look it up online.
So maybe a used one on eBay or somewhere?
And you can wear it cross draw.

I’ll throw out the simply rugged pancake holster I recently got for my 66-1 2 1/2”. Love the way it rides and conceals fantastic. Lots of good options given
Best,

I recently ordered one from Bullard Leather in Texas and I like it. It is very similar to the Azula though, so that may be a better deal. My 2 1/2” model 66 is one of my favorites.

Another choice.............
I've got a Bianchi 5BHL that fits my 2 1/2 in K frames. Thumb break retention. I use this one mostly when fishing or hiking.
It's a little "floppy" for concealed carry.
I also use a Galco L139 WC CM102. (that's all stamped on the back). It's open top, the retention is mostly accomplished w/ an impression pressed into the front and back to clasp the trigger guard. This one is an excellent CC holster. (for me)
Both are OSWB
The Bianchi is a handsome little holster IMO.
I don't have a pic of the Galco.

Another vote for the Bianchi model 5BH. I carried my 2 1/2" 66 in one until my wife claimed the 66 for her gun. She now has the left hand version for the 66.

I'll go with this or the Bianchi Shadow. I carried a four-inch M-64 with a Shadow under a short jacket and no one ever saw it.
Have also used Bianchi 5BHL and Safariland's old M-29, now basically copied as El Paso's Model 2.
All were good, but the Shadow probably works best for real concealment. The Azula is probably on par, but has no retention strap.
