Default 627-3 V Comp Red dot

I'm sure it's all in the forums here, but was thinking about doing a red dot on one of my 627-3 V Comps.
Any suggestions as to what it takes and recommended rail and or red dot sights would be greatly appreciated!

For my 327/627 V-comp, I went with a Vortex SparcII 2moa and a weigand mini rail. I will never remove either off of them. They're great.

For my 627-PC shooting mostly 38 shorts only, I went with a vortex venom 3moa and a Raptor engineering mount.

Very cool Lou the Welder. Are the first two scopes? Forgive my ignorance! The last one looks very clean. Is that a red dot?

They're all red dots.
I mostly use them on a 25 yard range. A 2moa-3 dot size is /has been good for that IMO.
Funny. When I started in this forum, I never wore glasses. Now, I wear bifocals. Lol! I shoot fine with them. ..sorta!

Another vote for the Raptor mount here, its what I use with a Vortex on my 629-5 that's factory drilled and tapped.

Absolutely all my optics are Vortex and I buy Vortex mounts as well. Vortex has numerous red dot optics and I own most of them.

Still another vote on the raptor mount. That mount uses 3 screws to attach it the the gun, and is very strong.

Anyone try the Leupold Delta Point Pro S&W Classic mount plate for the pre-drilled & tapped holes in the later model revolvers?
I own both DPPro and Vortex Venom RDS, but I have an extra J-Point 3 moa that would fit the DPPro mount.

Hey Lou, if you don't mind me asking, what grips are those on your 627-PC? They look very nice. I just got a 686Plus and want to upgrade the grips.

They are Ahrends.
I really like them on the newer style guns.
I actually shoot them with the woods on and dont take them off and replace them or anything like that. To me they're very comfortable and affordable.
The wood was 'Moradillo '. RB with finger grooves.

Here's a pic of my 686+ with Ahrends, before I took them off. Not that I didn't like them. The wife preffered the Hogues. The ones on the left are Babinga wood. And on the right , Moradillo.
