Damn she is beautiful!

I don't mean to hijack...I have a 629 PC and was wondering if those grips would fit! I am looking forward to your range report. Really await to hear about the recoil. My 629 PC grip just doesn't fit which makes more than a few cylinders not enjoyable. Looking to correct that.

Happy shooting!

Yes, any round butt grip will fit your 629 PC

I’ll second the tin knocker
Merry Christmas
I’m thinking your going to enjoy that one
I personally love the lite weight guns, I carry them exclusively
For various reasons I’m on my third 329 and I really can’t imagine not having at least one from here on out

Weight is 26.5 oz per our scale in kitchen.
I don't think this will be any more recoil than my 4" SW 500 or 3.5" 460XR. But will shall see :D

That's what I figured.... I've been shooting my 4" 500 a couple of years now. The Hogue TAMER grips with Sorbatane* (the same as your Backpacker has) work very well! So I wasn't concerned when my son got an early 329 4".

I should have been! .44 Specials, no problem. With .44 Mags a different story; 300 gr. 44 Mags my hand went numb with one shot. I waited a couple of minutes for the next shot so I wouldn't drop the gun with a numb hand.

Ripped the TAMER grips off my 500 and put them on the 329, they have the same size K/L size round butt. AND that made all the difference!!! So your 2.5" will be fine. S&W never should have sold the 329 w/o the TAMERs.

*The X frame 500 Mag RB size across the medallion area and at the knuckle is clearly a K/L frame RB grip frame at the top and the bottom. This observation and other information I had received convinced me that not all N frame RB grip frames are the same size. There are also N RB grips frames with N size tops and K/L bottoms.

The only RB models with complete K/L size RB grip frame are the X frame 500/460 Mags, 329, 325 and likely the Z frame Governor.

However the 500 Hogue "Tamer" rubber grips with Sorbatane will fit the 24-3, 624, 610, 625, and other N frame size RB grip frames with N size tops because they cover the backstrap and are stretchy.

This is a used gun of course. Date on fired case packet puts it at 2011. These are not common for sure. The SS cylinder really looks awesome against the black frame. It came with a set of Pachmeyers . Everything else in box is original and it has not been shot much at all. I took the pic with the grips from my sw 500 4”. I plan to order another set. I thought the same. If they work for recoil on my 500 they should also work on 329.

The seller swears it came new with Pachmeyers but all the pics that I have seen show the Hogue gripper. It really is not important. Its not they are hard to find and inexpensive. They are not $500 Coke grips or N Frame combats.

Wow! Congratulations, and Congratulations on finding that one.
Just how I like to by S&Ws, with everything.

Please give Range Report when you get a chance to shoot it.

The Best to you and your Endeavors.

Someday I'll find that hard to find S&W SC 357 41Rem Mag.

A very beautiful revolver and the stainless cylinder is worth it's weight in gold. Enjoy and remember to give a range report. I know in this market it probably cost a fortune, but well worth whatever you paid.

Congratulations!

Neat little guns. I'm a fan of the 329s (4" was my all day every day carry gun for the better part of a decade - still my backup bow hunting elk).

I managed to pickup OPs twin a while back. Haven't shot it much. Did some chrono work and shot some 25 yd plates but never put it on paper. Slipped it in the back pocket of my carharts on a couple of walks - comfortable for an hour and a half or so (as long as I go any more).

Here are some chrono results - the 2 1/2" backpacker is a bit faster velocity wise vs. my 2 3/4" M69 (diff is really meaningless, but interesting).

I ordered a couple of pairs of Hogue TAMER grips from S&W.

For the LANYARD RING type rubber stock screw shown below:

Call Hogue at 800 GET-GRIP (800 438-4747) or (805) 239-1440 ask for

part number 00128 Lanyard 1/2" (length) ring screw satin nickel

part number 00129 Lanyard 1" (length) ring screw satin nickel

I recommend that you order a couple of each as Hogue only makes a batch or two a year. These are not standard catalog items.

Jim and I thought you only owned J frames and smaller guns!:D

Even though my preference is for 4" and longer, that 329 is a beautiful gun!!!

That is one fine revolver! Congrats on a great find. Hang on to it as in don't sell it, as well as when you shoot it.
