That is a fine addition to the family
I am quite fond of the Night Guards.
I think they came out a bit too early in the growth curve of personal concealed carry
I think that if the six shot 38spl +P K frame Model 315 were offered from S&W today it would sell like the proverbial hot cakes.
A modern Model 12, essentially.
I'm not sure. They would sell some but, most would probably buy the bottom feeding micro compact 9MMs.
Heck, I had to explain what a 396 Night Guard was to all five employees at a LGS last year so they would understand why I was so excited to see it in the consignment case. The kicker was, four of the five were over the age of 50.

$750. With some dickering, and it has holster wear.629shooter what was the price tag on the 396? I have one that's LNIB
that I'm going to sell.
I would bet that the 642s, 442s and Ruger LCRs sell because of their price point. The more expensive small revolvers sit around awhile. The Night Guards if reintroduced, would be $1100-1200 retail.I work Sunday mornings at a gun counter. While it’s true that lots of 9mms and 380s of all descriptions get sold, a lot of Airweight J frames get sold, plenty of the new version of the Colt Cobra. That’s about 14oz on the light side and about 28oz on the heavy side. At 24oz the 386 Night guard fits right in.
Heavier revolvers like Ruger 101s get sold, but they don’t move as quickly.
I think steel K frames would be great sellers too, but we haven’t had any in a long time.
Interestingly, at least to me, is the high number of 1911s sold, mostly full size, mostly 45ACP.
Worth noting is that I live in Maryland, which is not a shall issues state. We still sell P365s and Glock 43Xs in high numbers though.

The funny thing is, I would have paid what he was asking but, I asked what his bottom dollar was first. Turns out it was my lucky day. That's lowest price for a NG that I've seen. Good deal!
